Activities on the ranch

Horseback Riding

Are you ready to break away from the treadmill of everyday life? Yes? Well then giddy up and get ready for a beautiful horseback ride through the Crownlands of British Columbia.

Adjusted to your riding abilities, we will guide you through the endless forest in small groups, from 1 hour up to an exciting day ride (about 6 hours). Adjusting to your daily program, we try our best to take you out on a ride when you feel like it.

There are so many trail areas to explore, so you can have a new adventure every day you're with us!

Our horses are part of our family which is why we try our best to keep them as comfortable as possible. All of our horses are barefoot and bitless. Every horse has it's very own tack which has been professionally fitted, making sure it fits correctly. They also have a horse chiropractitioner visit regularly.

Kids Riding Experience

If your kid is not quite ready for a trail ride through the bush, we offer a kids riding experience on the ranch, where they get to help prepare the horse with brushing, cleaning hoofs and saddling. When that's all done, they get to ride around the ranch where we teach them the basics of riding while being led by one of our Wranglers.

The kids love it!

Riding Lessons

"Let the horse choose to be with you, where there is force there is no will, there is no harmony"

No matter which level of riding you are at, beginner or advanced, young or old, I will help you understand the language of the horse, and show you how to communicate with them in a non-violent way.

I offer basic group and private lessons on the ranch or out on a trail ride.

We have an outdoor & indoor arena and a round pen.

Want to learn more about Natural Horsemanship, how to understand and communicate with horses in a non-verbal way, creating a trust based and non-violent partnership with your equine partner?

Swimming / Canoeing / Kayaking

Having Henley Lake only a couple of footsteps away gives you the opportunity to go either swimming or go out by canoe or by kayak whenever you feel like it.  All the equipment is included if you choose to stay at our ranch.

There are many, many lakes close by...so many, that some don't even have a name! If you wish, by leaving a small deposit, you can take one of our canoes or kayaks along for a day to go explore one of the other beautiful lakes British Columbia has to offer.

Mountainbiking

British Columbia is Canada’s most mountainous province and home to some of the world’s most diverse mountain biking terrain. Downhill, free ride, cross country, epic, all-mountain...it’s all here! Community trails, festivals, races, camps and tours are all available and together create the ultimate Mountain Biking BC experience. BC welcomes riders of all levels from around the globe to ride on the terrain we call home.

Hiking

"Not til we are completely lost or turned around...do we begin to find ourselves"

Henry David Thoreau

Do you feel like going on a beautiful and adventurous hike through the Crown Lands adjacent to the Wettstone Guest Ranch? You can head out on your own, or Martin or Daniela will be more than happy to join you and show you our favorite spots in the area.

Don't forget to take along lunch or a snack and enjoy nature with a cold beer... or let us know and we will gladly pack you a lunch bag with some goodies for the way. Take the camera too for that all-important selfie when your goal has been reached!
